Scale Removal, Scale Prevention & Anti-Corrosion Filters

Protect plumbing, geysers, heating elements, appliances and water-treatment equipment with the correct scale and corrosion solution. H2O Warehouse offers true hardness-removal water softeners, compact Siliphos scale-inhibition filters, complete multi-stage systems and pH-correction vessels for corrosive acidic water.

The correct option depends on whether the problem is hardness and limescale, new scale formation, existing deposits, or corrosion caused by low pH. These treatments work differently and should not be treated as interchangeable.

Complete automatic water softener vessels

Complete Water Softeners

The preferred solution where calcium and magnesium hardness must be physically removed. Ion-exchange resin reduces hardness before it forms scale and is regenerated using softener salt.

Siliphos scale and corrosion prevention cartridges

Siliphos Cartridge Filters

A compact scale-inhibition and corrosion-protection option for suitable water supplies. Available in 10-inch and 20-inch slimline cartridges and 10-inch and 20-inch Big Blue refillable cartridges.

Water softener resin salt and accessories

Softener Resin, Salt & Accessories

Replacement cation resin, food-grade regeneration salt, brine components and supporting parts for maintaining and servicing water-softening systems.

Calcite pH correction vessels for acidic corrosive water

pH Correction Vessels

Calcite and neutralising-media vessels for acidic, corrosive water. These systems raise pH and reduce corrosivity but are not water softeners and may increase mineral hardness.

Calcite and pH correction filter media

pH Correction Media

Replacement calcite and neutralising media for topping up or refilling pH-correction vessels used on low-pH borehole, wellpoint and process water.

Popular Complete Multi-Stage Options

Three-stage Big Blue sediment carbon and Siliphos system

3-Stage Big Blue Descale System

Combines 5-micron sediment filtration, carbon block treatment and a Siliphos cartridge for water clarity, chlorine reduction and scale-inhibition support.

Three-stage Big Blue Siliphos system with UV steriliser

3-Stage Big Blue Descale + UV System

Adds a 55 W UV stage to the sediment, carbon and Siliphos arrangement. UV is used for microbial disinfection and does not remove hardness or scale-forming minerals.

Which Solution Do You Need?

Hard Water & White Limescale

Choose an appropriately sized water softener where calcium and magnesium hardness must be removed. A hardness test and usage estimate are required for correct resin and regeneration sizing.

Compact Scale Prevention

Choose a Siliphos cartridge where the objective is to inhibit new scale deposits and provide corrosion protection without physically removing hardness minerals.

Acidic or Corrosive Water

Choose a calcite pH-correction vessel where low pH is causing corrosion, metallic taste, pinhole leaks or blue-green staining. Full water chemistry must be checked first.

Existing Heavy Scale

Installed filters normally prevent or reduce future deposits; they do not instantly dissolve established scale. Existing geysers, heat exchangers and pipework may require controlled chemical or mechanical descaling.

Information Required Before Selection

  • Total hardness reported as mg/L CaCO₃
  • pH, alkalinity and TDS or conductivity
  • Iron and manganese levels, particularly for borehole water
  • Water source and intended use
  • Required service flow in m³/h and daily or monthly consumption
  • Pipe size, available pressure and installation space
  • For softeners: suitable drain point, electrical supply and salt-storage access

Important: Product suitability and performance depend on water chemistry, flow, contact time, temperature, installation position and maintenance. Siliphos inhibits scale formation but does not soften water. Calcite corrects low pH but can increase hardness. Water softeners require correct programming, regular salt replenishment and suitable wastewater drainage.
