Darlly 20-Inch Big Blue Meltblown Sediment Filter Cartridge – 100 Micron

The Darlly-branded 20-inch Big Blue 100 micron meltblown polypropylene cartridge is a depth sediment filter for standard 20-inch Big Blue housings. It reduces suspended particles such as sand, silt, rust flakes and other visible debris, helping to protect downstream filtration and water-treatment equipment.

This 100 micron model is best suited to: very coarse prefiltration of larger debris before finer sediment treatment.

Understanding Micron Ratings

• A smaller micron number provides finer particle filtration but may block sooner where sediment levels are high
• 0.5–1 micron: fine sediment polishing, normally after coarser prefiltration
• 5 micron: a popular general-purpose choice for domestic sediment filtration
• 10–20 micron: medium prefiltration that balances particle removal and flow

Installation and Replacement

• Confirm the housing length and diameter before ordering; Slimline and Big Blue cartridges are not interchangeable
• Shut off the water supply and depressurise the housing before opening it
• Replace the cartridge when flow reduces, differential pressure rises or sediment begins to pass through
• Replacement frequency depends on water quality, water consumption and the sediment load

• This cartridge filters suspended particles only
• It does not remove dissolved salts or TDS, and it does not disinfect microbiologically unsafe water
• Use appropriate additional treatment where chemical or microbiological contamination is present
