Understanding Iodine Ratings (mg/g)

The “mg/g” rating—also referred to as the iodine number—is a key measure of the carbon’s adsorption capacity. A higher iodine value indicates greater surface area and better removal efficiency of chlorine, VOCs, and dissolved organics:

• 500mg/g – Mid-range capacity for everyday household filtration
