Calcite Acid Neutralising & pH Correction Filter – 18×65 FRP Vessel – With Media

The Calcite 18×65 acid neutralising and pH correction filter raises the pH of acidic water as it passes through a bed of calcium carbonate media. It helps reduce the corrosive effect of low-pH water on plumbing and equipment when correctly selected for the source water.

This package includes the 18×65 FRP vessel, a flow-through tank head, internal distribution components and Calcite media.

Installation & Use

• Water analysis: Measure inlet pH, alkalinity and hardness before selecting the unit.
• Media loading: Load and rinse according to the vessel and media instructions. Keep the specified freeboard; do not use the vessel’s total volume as the media fill volume.
• Flow direction: The installer must establish the correct flow direction and cleaning arrangement for the supplied head and internal components.
• Maintenance: Monitor outlet pH and media level. Arrange cleaning and replenishment before declining performance affects the water supply.
• Safe servicing: Isolate and depressurise the vessel before opening it. Respect the pressure and temperature ratings on the actual components.

Important Information

• Media supply: Media is supplied separately for loading during installation.
• Hardness increase: Calcite adds calcium as it dissolves and can increase hardness. A downstream softener may be needed where the resulting hardness is excessive.
• Backwashing: The standard flow-through head does not perform a backwash cycle. If the application requires backwashing, specify a suitable valve and drain arrangement separately.
• Water quality: Sediment pre-filtration may be necessary. The Calcite stage does not remove all other contaminants or disinfect the water.
• Treatment performance: Final pH and service flow depend on the water chemistry and contact time; a single outlet-pH result cannot be guaranteed for every supply.
